About Us

Word Nerds is owned by Michael and Kirsty Gladkoff and is located in Belgrave, east of Melbourne in the Dandenong Ranges. Besides the latest computers and software, they have an extensive reference library covering all aspects of writing and editing. 

Michael Gladkoff
Michael began writing for businesses as a teenager and has worked in the publishing, advertising and public relations fields for over twenty years. He has a BA (Economics/Humanities) from the University of California, an MBA from Alaska Pacific University, and a Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing from Box Hill Institute in Melbourne. In the mid-1990s, Michael was influential in the development of print advertising in Russia and produced the first Yellow Pages directories for several Russian cities. In recent years he has worked in publishing for Reed Business Information and Thomson Legal and Regulatory. Michael holds memberships in the Society of Editors (Victoria), the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia, and Business Network International. As a long-time member of Toastmasters International, he has taught speech writing and presentation skills, and won numerous awards for his motivational and humorous speeches.

Kirsty Gladkoff
Kirsty has extensive marketing experience and has worked with universities in Australia and the United States. She has developed and implemented marketing plans, created advertising campaigns and coordinated production of marketing collateral — from developing initial ideas through pre-production, editing and production. Kirsty has a BA in International Studies from Macalester College in Minnesota, an MBA from Alaska Pacific University and is studying Professional Writing and Editing at Box Hill Institute in Melbourne.
